At the Young Chartered Accountants Forum (YCAF), we believe in giving back to the community and supporting those in need. During the month of May, we launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project dedicated to bringing joy and a sense of normalcy to brave pediatric cancer patients at the Indira Cancer Trust.
Our team rallied to raise money to provide medical support for pediatric cancer patients. These combined efforts resulted in raising Rs. 4 million for the kids, showcasing the power of collective action. A substantial amount of funds, Rs. 1 million was donated by our CA Sri Lanka UAE Chapter. CA Sri Lanka Kuwait and Canada Chapters are also contributed to this worthy cause. These funds will be used to provide medicines for children in need of cancer treatment.
The fundraising culminated in a special evening spent with the children at the Suwa Arana. We transformed the place into a space filled with wonder and laughter. A professional magician entertained the children with a captivating magic show, leaving them mesmerized and delighted.
Following the show, we organized a craft session. Our members volunteered to assist the children in creating colorful artwork and fun crafts. Laughter filled the room as the children expressed their creativity, fostering a sense of connection and normalcy.
At the end of the program, YCAF distributed gifts to the children, sponsored by Unilever Sri Lanka Limited, Hemas Manufacturing(Pvt) Ltd, Lakpa Footwear (Pvt) Ltd, and a few generous individuals.
The evening wasn’t just about entertainment; it was about creating a supportive and joyful environment for these brave ‘little hearts’. Witnessing their smiles and enthusiasm was a truly rewarding experience for all the volunteers involved.
The CSR project at the Indira Cancer Trust was a resounding success. We successfully raised funds that will make a real difference in the lives of these children, and more importantly, created a memorable evening filled with magic and laughter.
At YCAF, we are committed to making a positive impact on our community. This project is just one example of how we are working to support those in need and bring smiles to the faces of those who need them most. The YCAF takes this opportunity to thank each and every individual and organization that came up and supported this worthy cause in every possible way they could.
