World Postal Day 2024 Celebrated in Dhaka

October 9, World Postal Day. Like other countries of the world, the day has been celebrated with due importance in Bangladesh. This year’s theme of World Postal Day is “150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations”.

 



 

The Department of Posts and various circles and units under the Department have simultaneously taken up various programs on the occasion of World Postal Day. This includes the Interim Government’s Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting by Md. Nahid Islam on Wednesday 09 October 2024 in Dhaka. Releasing of commemorative postage stamps under the title “150th Anniversary of Universal Postal Union”, radio talk, awarding of best employees of Postal Department, distribution of prizes to national level winners of 53rd International Letter Writing Competition and discussion meeting.

Md. Nahid Islam, advisor to the interim government, was invited as the chief guest in the meeting. The secretary in charge of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications was present as the main negotiator. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman. The meeting was presided over by SM Shahab Uddin, Director General (Additional Charge), Directorate of Posts.

Senior officials of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, officials and employees of the Directorate of Posts and the students who won the 53rd International Letter Writing Competition at the national level and their families attended the discussion.

At the end of the discussion meeting, awards were given to the employees at different levels of the Department of Posts for their special contribution in various fields.
