Women in Tech Hosts “Rocket Your Career in STEM” Workshop with Insights from Global HR Expert Taz Rajabali

Women in Tech Sri Lanka hosted an interactive event, “Rocket Your Career in STEM,” earlier this Month. The workshop, held on June 4th and tailored for corporate women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), aimed to equip participants with the tools and insights necessary to ascend to leadership positions in their respective fields.

Women in Tech Sri Lanka, a local chapter of the global Women in Tech movement headquartered in Paris, is dedicated to empowering women in the tech industry. Recognising the importance of women’s leadership in STEM, Women in Tech Sri Lanka organised the event to support and uplift women professionals in STEM domains. Attendees gained invaluable knowledge and inspiration from esteemed HR and Recruitment Specialist, Consultant and International Trainer, Taz Rajabali.

Drawing from his vast and diverse experiences working across multiple industries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Taz has delivered sustainable solutions and enhanced outcomes in areas including Talent Strategy, Leadership Development, Learning and Development, and Technology Implementation for renowned organisations such as McKinsey, Accenture, and Microsoft.

“Taz’s expertise provided attendees with invaluable insights into career acceleration strategies, effective communication of value, and overcoming challenges in STEM,” remarked Chathini Uduwana, Chapter Ambassador of Women in Tech Sri Lanka. “His hands-on guidance on goal-setting, accountability and emphasising the importance of quantifiable outcomes resonated deeply with participants. In the end, they were able to consider what grassroots changes they could make to progress to the next stage in STEM, particularly leadership.”

Uduwana continued, “He also led interactive exercises on networking and troubleshooting, creating an engaging and supportive environment among attendees. By encouraging open dialogue and collective problem-solving, they were able to tackle career-related challenges with creativity and resilience.”

Taz Rajabali’s commitment to empowering individuals extends beyond his professional endeavours. Through Melius Consulting, his recruitment and consulting agency, he challenges conventional thinking and practices in HR and Hiring. Furthermore, his pro-bono initiative, Rockstar Coaching, has helped over 5000 people worldwide unlock their true potential.

“We are honoured to have had such a speaker share expertise with us at ‘Rocket Your Career in STEM,'” said Uduwana. “His dedication to empowering individuals aligns perfectly with our mission at Women in Tech Sri Lanka.”

The event was made possible through collaboration with key partners. Snap Ark Global, the Learning Partner, facilitated Taz Rajabali’s participation, offering innovative learning experiences to attendees. HatchWorks, the ecosystem partner, provided the vibrant coworking space for the event, bringing together a dynamic community of learners and innovators. Whisper Sri Lanka, the event partner’s generous contribution, made this event possible. And Mark and Comm as the strategic communications partner for Women in Tech Sri Lanka.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our sponsors for their invaluable support in making this event a resounding success,” remarked Uduwana. For more information about Women in Tech Sri Lanka and future events, please visit https://women-in-tech.org/sr/
