Colombo, Monday 14th March 2022: International Women’s Day 2022 is about celebrating women and the intricacies of womanhood around the world.  This year’s global theme for IWD calls on the world to “BreakTheBias” or in words to stand up for what you believe is right. It also focuses on “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.

In keeping with the theme, Women Empowered Global (WEG) is excited to announce the launch of a special Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion podcast for International Women’s Day 2022. The IWD segment will be running on the theme “BreakTheBias” in collaboration with 1 Million Women in Power and the United States Presidential Service Center, USA. It will be hosted by Martin Mongiello – Chair of the Board of Trustees, The United States Presidential Service Center & the US Presidential Culinary Museum, and Senela Jayasuriya – CEO of Women Empowered Global.

WEG has set out to tackle powerful topics such as “Beyond Women on Boards; How the gender lens can impact organizational strategy for the better” and “Breaking Down Stereotypes; The shift from gender specific to gender neutral” through these Podcast Episodes. The 10 impactful episodes will feature insights from 10 different Professionals, Leaders, Experts and inspiring key personalities from around the world with different cultural backgrounds and experiences to hold challenging and insightful episodes on narratives, dogmas and issues that hold women as well as a society behind.  Guest speakers will be from around the world as they share their thoughts on our IWD 2022 podcast which will be available on Google Podcast, Apple Music and Spotify for 2-3 months, commencing in March 2022.

These thought-provoking episodes highlights a collaborative voice that deals with issues ranging from gender discrimination, unconscious bias, imagining a gender equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, a world where difference is valued and celebrated, women’s equality, a world that is diverse, equitable, recognizing the contribution of women and men around the world who are leading the charge to ally with and support the agenda, promoting women in Tech, Innovation, eSports, Business, Finance, Investment, Real Estate and other fields.

The first commemoration of International Women’s Day stemmed from women who as way back as 1909 wanted their voices to be heard. Today, the global women’s rights movement has evolved into celebrate, recognize, and appreciate ALL Women around the world, accepting and recognizing them for their differences/uniqueness.

The Audiences have the opportunity to listen/download the episodes through various platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Google podcasts, Overcast, Pocket casts, Radio Public, Breaker etc. The link for each episode will be announced through Women Empowered Global’s Facebook & Instagram page @WomenEmpGlobal, with every individual episode launch.
