The Access Group celebrated the September Monthly Medal at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) which concluded with a thrilling display of golfing prowess, as 275 golfers competed across various divisions. The highlight of the event was the outstanding performance where Mr Sameera Ganegoda clinched the Overall winner in the Men’s category and Ms Viv Fowler–Watt, clinched the Overall winner in the Ladies’ category.
The Gross winner of the ‘A’ Division was Sachin De Silva, who demonstrated exceptional skill with a score of 71 Gross. The Nett winner, Rajeeve Rajapaksa, secured the title with a remarkable score of 66 Nett. The Nett Runner-up was Chanaka Perera, who finished closely behind with a score of 70 Nett B/B 9.
In the Junior Division, the competition was just as intense. Jacob Norton displayed remarkable talent, clinching the Gross title with a score of 74 Gross. Meanwhile, Suhan Silva won the Nett title with a score of 70 Nett B/B 9, showcasing a promising future in the sport. Jacob Norton was also the Nett Runner-up in the Junior Division completing the event with a score of 70 Nett.
The event culminated in a grand awards night on Saturday, August 31st, where winners were celebrated, and participants enjoyed an evening of entertainment. The atmosphere was electric, with members and guests alike revelling in the camaraderie for which the Monthly Medal is known.
