Two Cruise Ships at Hambantota Port

Two cruise ships MV Arius and MV Gem, each with capacity to carry more than 800 passengers, are currently berthed at the Hambantota International Port (HIP) for month long layups.  The ship crews will remain on board for the period.

We provide safe mooring, security for ship and personnel, ship supplies, etc. These types of vessels contribute to increasing awareness among ship owners and ship managers, of the diverse portfolio of services HIP can offer” says Lance Zuo; General Manager, Commercial & Marketing.

This service offered by HIP also supports the local communities of Hambantota, who supply fresh produce and other necessities for the laid-up ships.  Local service providers registered under HIP offer variety of services, ship repairs, chandelling and other services on a need basis when vessels are on long layups at the port.
