Türkiye Food Festival Unveiled at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo

Colombo, September 4, 2023 – Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, an esteemed member of the Marriott Bonvoy hotel portfolio, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Colombo and Turkish Airlines, is pleased to announce the forthcoming Türkiye Food Festival, an event dedicated to showcasing the rich and diverse cuisine of Türkiye. This culinary extravaganza will feature Guest Chefs Volkan Gür and Eren Barishan from JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea, offering an authentic taste of Turkish gastronomy.

Taking place from September 15th to September 23rd, 2023, the ten-day Türkiye Food Festival will be a unique opportunity for connoisseurs and food enthusiasts to indulge in a variety of traditional Turkish dishes. Chef Volkan Gür and Chef Eren Barishan will present an extensive buffet and dynamic action stations, highlighting the intricate flavours of Turkish kebabs, mezes, and other signature delights, providing a genuine insight into the captivating tapestry of Turkish culinary heritage.

The festival will be hosted at the enchanting Beira Kitchen within Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, with the dinner buffet available at Rs.9,500 nett per person from September 15th to September 23rd, 2023, between 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

Attendees can look forward to an elevated dining experience, enhanced by traditional Turkish entertainment and live-action stations. Moreover, on September 17, 2023, a Turkish Tea Party will be held from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, priced at LKR 5,500 nett per person, offering a unique perspective on Turkish cuisine. For those seeking a deeper understanding, the CHEF’S TABLE, led by Chef Volkan Gür, will take place on September 18th and 19th, 2023, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, priced at LKR 15,000 nett per person.

Throughout the ten-day event, the hotel will be transformed into a Turkish culinary haven, featuring traditional dishes curated by Chef Volkan Gür from JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea. Guests can savour mouthwatering kebabs, fragrant rice pilafs, flaky pastries, and more, all while immersing themselves in the cultural significance of these flavours. “We are excited to bring the essence of Türkiye to Colombo through its cuisine.
