The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), country’s apex body of tour operators, is set to hosting TOAB International Tourism Award (TITA), celebrating outstanding contributions to the promotion and growth of both domestic and international tourism here.
The award ceremony will take place on 29 May 2024 at the Hotel Sheraton in the capital and will feature distinguished guests, industry leaders and key stakeholders from abroad. The Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan will join the award ceremony as the chief guest.
The new award was officially announced at a Press Conference held on 20 May 2024 at Hotel Sheraton Dhaka where The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Senior Vice-president Md. Amin Helali was present as the chief guest while the Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) President Tanzim Anwar was present as special guest.
TOAB president Shiblul Azam Qureshi presided over the event while its former president Md. Rafeuzzaman, Badrul Alam Mollah, Police Superintendent of Public Relations Department of Tourist Police, Bangladesh Tourism Board Deputy Director Saiful Hasan, Hotel Westin General Manager Stephen Mayse, Tourism Corporation Public Relations Manager Aktar Ahmed, Technology Partner M-360 ICT Vice President Chowdhury Mostak Ahmed, CEO Fahim Shahriar spoke, among others, in the briefing.
The press conference was attended by all the members of the director of TOAB and the management committee of the award. The press conference was moderated by Toab Media and Publication Department Director Mohammad Yunus.
Awards will be presented in about 20 different categories in the first edition and each category includes different sectors of tourism services. The award aims to promote tourism in Bangladesh and showcasing the country’s tourism products on the global stage.
This award ceremony serves as a platform to honor individuals, organisations, and initiatives that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in enhancing the local and global tourism industry, especially in neighboring countries.
