The SLASSCOM IT/ BPM Career Fair 2022 to take center stage in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province

The IT/ BPM Career Fair,  a keystone event on the calendar of the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) spearheaded by SLASSCOM’s Regional Development Forum, will be returning to the Northern Province of Sri Lanka this year.

The main objective of the IT/BPM Week is to create awareness, build capacity and promote entrepreneurship for the industry in all parts of the country. This year’s key activities during the IT/BPM Career Fair will center around securing jobs for final year students in over 20 leading IT/BPM companies within the country who will be joining the event. Wiley Global Technology, CodeGen International Fortude, VitalHub, BCS Technology, SimCentric are some of the companies who have already partnered. The main target audience for the event can be categorized as university students in Government and Private universities in the Northern Province .

The event will be held in 2 locations. On 17th of November it will be in University of Vavuniya and then on 18th it will move to University of Jaffna. The IT/ BPM career fair is organized in partnership with the Northern Chamber of IT (NCIT), one of SLASSOM’s key regional partners.

The event agenda will create awareness among the undergraduates about the different career options and opportunities available in the IT/ BPM industry and seek to create a platform for the biggest career fair in the Northern Province with walk-in- and mock interviews and resume collection for students who are ready to be recruited. Graduates will be offered the opportunity to have discussions with leading senior industry professionals to map out future career pathways. The promotion of increasing the participation of women in the IT/ BPM industry is also one of the main objectives of IT/ BPM week as SLASSCOM strives to encourage the development of women in tech..

The Northern IT/ BPM Career Fair will further host sessions on some timely subjects which will cover both the current and future trends including some of the most important soft skills required for professionals. As a means of motivation and inspiration the program will also share success stories from industry professionals and startups from the region.
