The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka (MMCA Sri Lanka) will open Rotation 2 of their exhibition ‘Total Landscaping’ on 15 December. A fresh lineup of public programmes in their galleries awaits you to conclude your 2024 on a high note with a visit to the museum located on the ground floor of Crescat Boulevard, Colombo 3. Entrance to the museum and all of its public programmes is free.
Sandev Handy, Senior Curator at the MMCA Sri Lanka, will lead a curator’s tour on Sunday, 15 December, from 11am to 12pm. This interactive tour offers an in-depth look at Rotation 2 of ‘Total Landscaping’, with its lead curator.
As the second rotation of ‘Total Landscaping’ opens, the museum’s festive spirit will be in full swing with a performance of Christmas carols by the Choir of S. Thomas’ Preparatory School, directed by Harin Amirthanathan. Drop by the MMCA Sri Lanka on Friday, 20 December, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm to join the choir in bringing the season’s magic to life through the themes explored in ‘Total Landscaping’.
The MMCA Sri Lanka will also offer artwork Spotlights on Sunday, 22 and 29 December, from 11am to 12pm. These one-hour sessions led by the museum’s Visitor Educators focus on selected artworks from the exhibition. Each Spotlight provides a closer look at individual works, delving into their stories, contexts, and connections to the overarching themes of ‘Total Landscaping’.
