The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC, a leader in the herbal personal care sector, recently held the ‘Swadeshi Star Sales Awards 2023/24’ ceremony at the Jetwing Blue, Negombo. The event was designed to recognise excellence in sales, and reward top performers across the general and modern trade categories. Key business partners who contributed to the success of the company were also honoured at the event.
The event was designed to reflect Swadeshi’s core attribute of seamlessly blending Sri Lankan heritage with modern innovation. It opened with a traditional drumming ceremony, which was accompanied by the classic ‘Danno Bundunge’ melody, which transitioned into the uplifting notes of ‘Rise Up’ which symbolised the company’s journey ahead.
A welcome note by Ms. Chulodhara Samarasinghe, Deputy Chairperson/Managing Director of Swadeshi, highlighted in her welcome speech the need of collaboration, teamwork and hard work that is required to achieve the future goals of the company. The event was held to re-energise and to celebrate their achievements. She stated that it was necessary to push the boundaries to achieve greatness.
This address was followed by Mr. Amila Udawatte, Chief Executive Officer of Swadeshi, who reflected on the highlights and achievements of the previous year, and also outlined the strategies for the 2024/25 financial year. His address also focused on innovation, collaboration and maintaining the company’s strong connection to its roots. Mr. Udawatte also emphasized the need for growth in the personal care industry.
The event featured a multitude of entertainment, including several cultural performances, and a special rendition of ‘Isthuthi Sri Lanka’, underscoring Swadeshi’s unwavering commitment to its local values. Another highlight of the event was the launch of new Swadeshi Khomba Lemongrass Soap, which is a refreshing addition to the company’s product portfolio. This new product is designed to invigorate the body and provide long-lasting odour protection. The product aligns with Swadeshi’s commitment to offering high-quality, herbal personal care solutions to meet the needs of customers.
The event followed with the highly anticipated Star Sales Awards ceremony, which saw the top performers in sales recognised for their invaluable contributions, and business partners who were instrumental in the company’s growth.
