Suwa Diviya, a non-profit initiative dedicated to combating the rising incidence of diabetes, is excited to announce the ‘Live Well Health Fair’—the first event of its kind in Sri Lanka. The fair will take place on Saturday, November 30th, at the Arcade Independence Square, Colombo 07, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The event primarily targets the public, including children, the youth, and senior citizens alike, and aims to raise awareness of the crucial need to lead a healthy lifestyle void of non-communicable diseases detrimental to health and wellbeing.

The health initiative, a brainchild of Suwa Diviya is based on the strong belief that health education and awareness are quintessential elements that need to be integrated with modern lifestyles. At the core of these beliefs is that healthy habits must be nurtured from infancy to childhood and beyond, highlighting the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle across all ages, ranging from infancy to adulthood.

Given the increasing rate of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and obesity rampant among the younger population, the ‘Live Well Health Fair’ would serve as a real eye-opener and game changer, empowering individuals to tap into the knowledge and tools required to lead healthier lives. The health fair would provide the public an opportunity to engage in knowledge-sharing activities and obtain professional insights on how to lead a healthy lifestyle. The fair would deliver informative sessions on critical topics such as diabetes management, heart health, nutrition, and physical fitness, by medical professionals from the public and private sector.

While the health fair would be a unique and innovative approach tailored to meet the requirements of all age groups, individuals can avail the opportunity for free health screenings, including a check-up of the Body Mass Index (BMI), blood glucose levels, vision tests, and blood pressure levels, feet assessment for diabetics.  Exclusive deals will be available for healthy food and wellness products representing leading brands such as Abans PLC, Paan Paan, CIC, Easy Kitchen, Nawaloka, Caretech, Sunshine Tea, Healthguard, and Green Leaf Products.

The public would have a unique opportunity to experience and participate in healthy cooking demonstrations and fitness activities and enhance their knowledge of practical nutrition tips. Individuals can also test their knowledge and engage in fun physical activities curated to promote awareness of a healthy lifestyle. The ‘Live Well Health Fair’ will also feature a dedicated kids’ zone for young children. The fun corner would consist of entertaining and engaging games, including activities designed to educate young minds on healthy living, exclusively supported by Atlas Axilia. Participants may also stand a chance to win exciting prizes, including home gardening kits and yoga sessions. Reserve the date for an inspiring day filled with engaging activities centered around fun, health, and learning. The event is an excellent opportunity to enhance individual wellbeing and expand one’s knowledge.
