Sunshine Holdings PLC recently commemorated International Women’s Day 2025 with an empowering event under its “WE” initiative. With the tagline “Igniting Courage, Inspiring Change,” the event aimed at fostering personal and professional growth among Sunshine’s female workforce. Launched in 2024, the “WE” initiative consolidates all women-focused empowerment programs of the Group. promoting workplace inclusivity and female participation.
Highlighting confidence, camaraderie, and personal growth, this year’s celebration commenced with a spirited ramp walk featuring over 30 enthusiastic female staff members. Designed as a confidence-building exercise, participants confidently showcased their unique styles, reinforcing the event’s message that every woman is inherently strong and capable,
Kavi Rajapaksha, last year’s WE committee president and Chief Marketing Officer at Sunshine Consumer Lanka, delivered a motivating address emphasizing the significance of self-confidence, authenticity, and leveraging individual strengths and skills for personal and professional development. Adding further impact to the program, former Miss Sri Lanka, renowned personality grooming trainer Rozanne Diaz conducted a personal grooming and hygiene session.
The event also marked the election of the new WE committee for 2025/26. It comprises a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and dedicated committee members committed to driving the initiative forward. Additionally, in a special interactive segment, attendees were grouped to share and discuss inspiring personal stories in response to common everyday scenarios women encounter. This activity created a strong solidarity, highlighting shared experiences and mutual empowerment.
