Colombo, Thursday 20 February 2025: Sunshine Foundation for Good (SFG), the dedicated corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Sunshine Holdings PLC, has once again demonstrated its commitment to education by successfully distributing stationery gift vouchers to schoolchildren. This year, the initiative positively impacted the lives of nearly 640 deserving children in schools in Kadawatha, Kelaniya, Ratmalana, Modara, and Mattakkuliya, areas close to Sunshine Holdings’ operational units.
Under this impactful program, vouchers were distributed to school children from Grade 1 to Grade 11, with both primary and secondary schools benefitting from the initiative. These children, hailing from low-income families mainly supported by daily wage earners, were provided with stationery vouchers to support their educational purchases and ensure a promising start to the new academic year.
This initiative is part of the education vertical of the Sunshine Foundation for Good, which focuses on empowering communities by fostering education and addressing critical gaps in access to learning resources. Emphasizing the foundation’s commitment to community welfare, the program prioritizes schools near Sunshine Holdings’ business operations to reinforce the organization’s responsibility toward its immediate communities.
Managed and coordinated by the Corporate Communications and CSR Division of Sunshine Holdings, the distribution programs were conducted in the schools of the beneficiaries, namely Yashodara P.V (Kelaniya), Dippitigoda R.C.P.V (Kelaniya), Dalupitiya P.V (Kelaniya), Buddhist P.V (Kadawatha), Kristhudeva V. (Ratmalana), St. John’s V (Modara) and Thotawaththa M.C (Colombo North). Members of the Sunshine Leadership team, managers and senior executives from Sunshine Holdings, and its business lines such as Sunshine Healthcare Lanka (Pharma, Medical Devices, Healthguard Distribution, Healthguard Pharmacies and Lina Manufacturing), Sunshine Tea [Pvt] Ltd., and Sunshine Consumer Lanka partnered in the events, underscoring the Group’s collective commitment to community upliftment.
Through this annual initiative, Sunshine Holdings PLC reaffirms its commitment to bridging educational disparities and nurturing the potential of Sri Lanka’s youth, ensuring a more equitable and hopeful future for students within its neighbouring communities.
