Sunquick’s Innovative Campaign Revives “Nade Gura” as Virtual Guide for Adam’s Peak Pilgrimage

[Colombo, 19/5/2024] – Sunquick, a leading beverage brand renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation, has launched a groundbreaking campaign in collaboration with Affinity Integrated. This initiative brings to life the legendary ‘Nade Gura’, an ancient guide who traditionally escorted pilgrims up Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Padaya, by transforming him into a virtual guide, using Virtual Reality (VR) technology. This technological milestone aims to enhance the visitor experience by reviving Nade Gura in an animated format, enriching the ascent with fascinating stories and insightful information.

 



 

Adam’s Peak is a sacred mountain in Sri Lanka, with a rich history and spiritual significance. It is respected and holds religious importance for all ethnicities and religions in Sri Lanka, and it has long been a pilgrimage and adventure destination. However, navigating its trails and appreciating its significance can be challenging for travellers. Recognising this, Sunquick partnered with local conservationists and storytellers to bridge this gap by digitally resurrecting ‘Nade Gura’.

The campaign features Nade Gura as a charismatic and knowledgeable virtual guide, leading adventurers on an unforgettable journey up Adam’s Peak. Through captivating animation and immersive storytelling, he shares tales of the mountain’s flora, fauna, and cultural heritage, offering a deeper understanding of its significance. Additionally, Virtual Nade Gura encourages environmental responsibility by reminding visitors to properly dispose of plastic waste—a critical issue at Adam’s Peak.

The campaign has garnered significant attention, with over 50,000 scans in a short period.
