January 19, 2021, Colombo: SriLankan Cares, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of SriLankan Airlines, spreading the Christmas spirit and joys of the season, shared a Christmas lunch and donated packs of essential items among the patients of the Pediatric Ward at the Apeksha Cancer Hospital and the occupants of CCC House in Maharagama.
CCC House is a transit residence for cancer outpatients and their caregivers who cannot afford to live in outside accommodation or travel long distances to and from their rural homes for treatment. It is situated inside the premises of the Cancer Institute Maharagama and allows patients easy access to their treatment.
The donations, were contributions from the SriLankan Airlines’ staff, consisting of essential items such as milk powder, sugar, tea leaves, samaposha, biscuits, baby cream, baby soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, washing powder, etc. SriLankan Cares donated a total of 343 packs containing these items.
Since its inception, SriLankan Cares has strived to integrate the national carrier’s many programmes that have each been independently working towards the company’s goal of uplifting the needy children throughout Sri Lanka.
