Sri Lanka’s young shuttlers clinched the gold medal in both U-17 and U-15 age groups at the South Asia Regional Junior Badminton Championships held at the National Sports Council in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday.
Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh 3-2 in the U-17 final and defeated Nepal 3-0 in the final of U 15 event. Ranitma Liyanage, Hiruka Sahanmith Aluth Patabandige, Ranumi Manage and Thidasa Weragoda competed in the under-17 competition, while Senuth Sethmina Perera, Nethmi Amaya Ratnayake, Keneth Arukgoda and Sithuli Ranasinghe competed the under-15 competition.
