SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka in partnership with HNB elevates banking convenience and accessibility within Kesbewa with new ATM

July 2024, Piliyandala:  SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, in partnership with Hatton National Bank (HNB), recently celebrated a milestone with the introduction of the 817th HNB ATM at SOS Children’s Village in Piliyandala.

The inauguration event was graced by distinguished guests including Divakar Ratnadurai – National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, Kirthi Hettiarachchi – Deputy National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, Dhananjaya Perera – Deputy National Director & Director Programmes of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, Gayantha Dalpadado – Director, Head of Fund Development & Communications at SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka,  Sanjay Wijemanne, Chief Operating Officer of HNB, Chammika Weerasinghe, Assistant General Manager – Digital Business of HNB, Viranga Gamage, Head of Deposits of HNB, alongside other dignitaries from both organizations.

 



 

This initiative aims to enhance banking convenience and accessibility for the local community. Reflecting the shared commitment between SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka and HNB to uplift local communities and foster sustainable development, the new ATM supports the community of Kesbewa, Piliyandala, in carrying out their day-to-day financial requirements, hassle-free.

Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka stated, “We value our partnership with HNB for its impact on the children in our care and its potential to benefit the community’s welfare. At SOS, our commitment to community empowerment and sustainability is longstanding. This partnership with HNB to introduce a new ATM in Kesbewa reflects our goal of fostering financial well-being within the community.”

Highlighting the significance of this new ATM,  Sanjay Wijemanne, Chief Operating Officer at HNB stated, “We support positive advocacy at HNB. Our goal is to assist SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka in their community empowerment efforts. The introduction of our new ATM in Kesbewa is one step in improving financial convenience and accessibility for the community.”

SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka has been actively engaged in providing a stable, family-like environment for children for 43 years, operating 06 Children’s Villages and caring for over 800 children. The organization is dedicated to extending assistance to more than 3700 children at risk of losing their parents through the Direct Family Empowerment Programme.
