Colombo, Sri Lanka – Nov. 29, 2021 – Sophos, a global leader in next-generation cybersecurity, announced the appointment of South Asian Technologies (Pvt) Ltd (SAT), as its new distributor in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

SAT is a leading master distributor of highly rated ICT products and a leading global value-added supplier of network infrastructure, web security, data centres and digital imaging solutions. SAT has a partner network of over 150 companies.

This partnership will allow for Sophos to maximise SAT’s partner network and client base and allows SAT to diversify its security portfolio with Sophos’ next-generation cybersecurity solutions and services. This will strengthen Sophos’ channel network and increase its mark within Sri Lanka and Maldives.

SAT Group Director and CEO, Sanjaya Padmaperuma said, “As cyber-attacks become more advanced, cybersecurity is likewise a deeper concern for all our clients across the region. Sophos and its next generation cybersecurity solutions, such Intercept X and Sophos Firewall enable us to provide layered security to better protect our associates and clients in Sri Lanka and Maldives. With the expeditious development of digital transformation in Sri Lanka and Maldives, local organisations are constantly in need of a proactive cybersecurity approach that can interoperate as a system to defend against modern cyber-attacks. Sophos, with its innovative approach to security technology and threat hunting services, provides this kind of intelligent system.”

“Sophos’ Active Adversary Playbook 2021 details attacker behaviours and their tools, techniques and procedures (TTPs) that lead to attacks such as ransomware. More than 80% of the attacks Sophos investigated in 2020 and early 2021 involved ransomware.  To enhance security, local organisations require a dynamic and consistent cybersecurity plan. With SAT as our new distributor in the region, organisations across Sri Lanka and Maldives will now have access to defense-in-depth through Sophos’ advanced security solutions and services,” said, Sunil Sharma, Managing Director Sales (India and SAARC), Sophos.
