10 December, 2020: Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing life insurer Softlogic Life, recently announced a unique partnership with the Entrepreneur Organisation (EO) Sri Lanka and the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), in an effort to inspire and ignite a culture of entrepreneurship among students and young people in Sri Lanka. In the new normal, where startups are playing an increasingly impactful role in the development and prosperity of communities and the country, Softlogic Life’s association aims to uplift the lives of all Sri Lankans by discovering and nurturing the dreams and innovations of promising young entrepreneurs across the island.
Since its inception in 1987, EO Sri Lanka has run a successful platform that enables young local talent to access a high-quality global network of over 14,000 student entrepreneurs as well as investors and human resources that would help foster life-enhancing connections, shared experiences and collaborative learning in a quest to enhance business growth. Their Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) was thereafter launched by EO Sri Lanka as the premier competition to give hopeful young entrepreneurs the financial boost necessary to take the next step in their venture to become impactful global enterprises.

The three-party coalition has launched a Facebook Community Page named ‘Sri Lanka’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs in support of this venture. The social community enables students to engage with a peer network of other students and professionals to unlock crucial insights and learn from their experience to transform their businesses. Young entrepreneurs are also able to access multiple potent webinars with industry leaders and former GSEA Sri Lanka winners, who will be sharing insights, experiences and know-how from their successful journeys.
