SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT, Telecommunications and Mobile Services Provider in its continued efforts to support distressed communities affected due to COVID-19, has distributed dry rations and other essential items recently to families in the Kandy and Vavuniya districts who have been facing severe hardships.

SLT-MOBITEL distributed relief packs containing essential items and dry rations to settlements of the Ivankulam village and also to residents of the Asikuam village. Both communities are part of the Vavuniya divisional secretariat. Additionally, SLT-MOBITEL provided communities of the Poojapitiya area in the Kandy divisional secretariat and residents of Doluwa in Gampola, also part of the Kandy divisional secretariat with relief packs.

In undertaking the successful distribution of the relief packs, the company received the unstinting assistance and support of the officials of the respective divisional secretariats and the grama niladharis of the relevant areas.

Another noteworthy initiative undertaken by SLT-MOBITEL to help those affected by the pandemic was the special ‘Daana Paaramitha’ initiative.
