SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT, Telecommunications and Mobile Services Provider, donated fully equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Beds to the Kandy General Hospital recently, as part of its continuous efforts to help Sri Lanka combat the global pandemic.

The endeavour was facilitated in collaboration with the Kandy City Center Management and the donation included ICU beds, personal protective gear (PPE) and other medical equipment to help support healthcare workers to treat patients with cutting edge medical solutions.

Mobitel has previously donated medical facilities to both the private and public health sectors, and is committed to empowering healthcare personnel with superior digital connectivity solutions to carry out their duties in a safe and hassle free manner.

In addition, Mobitel introduced the ‘Daana Paaramitha’ campaign in lieu of Vesak to help communities that were affected due to COVID 19. Both Pre-Paid and Post-Paid customers can simply donate via SMS by simply typing ‘YES’ and send it to 255. For every SMS Rs. 50 will be charged and in return, SLT-MOBITEL will match all public donations and will double the funds collected. The funds collected will be used to distribute dry rations, medical supplies and relief kits to Sri Lankan communities in distress.
