Tuesday 10th  January 2023, Colombo: Taking another proactive step to nurture the country’s marketing arena, Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is bringing the Brand Week back in partnership with Dialog Axiata in 2023. SLIM Dialog Brand Week will be a three-day marketing symposium that explores the future of brands, commerce and emerging technologies with international marketers with comprehensive insights into the nuances of marketing and branding in this globally challenging and changing era. The event line up and content designed for the symposium will take deep dives into the status quo and effective approaches for Sri Lankan brands. Other sponsors of the event include: Kottu Mee, HNB, Daraz, Future World, Caltex, EGB, Closeup, Axe, Insee, Ceylinco Life, and Homelands.

“SLIM Dialog Brand Week will be a key steppingstone for Sri Lankan brands. We have designed the week’s content to challenge brands to conceptualize and apply experiences to find viable solutions for tomorrow’s challenges. Moreover, this would be a golden opportunity for marketers to network, share experiences and band together to be effective in achieving collective and individual goals,” said – Asanka Perera – Project Chairman, SLIM Brand Week 2023.

SLIM Dialog Brand Week 2023 will be a content rich forum where a diverse pool of international and local speakers will congregate and share knowledge to break boundaries and aim for the pinnacle of success in branding through a data and insight driven approach. Participants at the event will be able to access fresh content and discuss hottest topics in the marketing and branding arena at the symposium.

The international speaker line-up includes

• Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy & Mathers,

• Sonam Wangchuck who inspired the 03 idiot’s movie

• Moumita Sarker, Director at Deloitte India,

• Maria Pilar CEO Femtech at MAS Twinery and

• Kumar Sangakkara a sporting icon alongside many more local speakers

“There is a vacuum for more involved, and creative approaches to branding. Building brands and attracting and retaining customers in this status quo requires a different approach. Hence, we will discuss such topics at length and share fresh knowledge and perspectives with our participants at the symposium,” added Asanka Perera.

SLIM is the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka. Its workshops and training programs are conducted by industry experts and lead to a significant improvement among the employees’ overall productivity, by enhancing skills to meet the present and future needs of organisations.
