The SLIIT Student Interactive Society, the apex student body, successfully hosted ‘Synthesis 2023 – The Magical Harmony’ recently, an evening of epic entertainment and a night to remember for all students.
The celebration was eagerly anticipated among the SLIIT fraternity, as it was the main student get-together held after an absence of two years due to the pandemic and the country’s challenging situation. The event provided the perfect opportunity to welcome first-year students and for all the faculties to celebrate SLIIT’s diversity, talent and camaraderie culminating in an incredible night. The entire event was organized by the SLIIT Student Interactive Society led by President Ranul Deelaka and his team.
Expressing a few words on the occasion, the Chancellor of SLIIT, Professor Lakshman Rathnayake said, “The event “Synthesis 2023 – The Magical Harmony” was a great success, and due credit goes to the Student Interactive Society for putting up a great show for our students. After a lapse of 2 years, the event came as a fresh breath of air where students were able to socialize, enjoy and be part of a highly entertaining event that brought happiness and camaraderie among fellow students. There’s no greater joy than seeing our students enjoying themselves and taking a break from their studies. Congratulations on an event well done.”
Students enjoyed entertainment by the Daddy Band, the main band for the evening, and other popular musical bands, including Randhir with Boombox, and SLIIT’s own ‘SLIIT Band’. The artists who coloured the event were Centigradz, Wasthi, Dinesh, Kaizer and Randhir. A Fashion show was also organized with SLIIT students as models gracing the catwalk. The fashionable outfits were provided by La Vivente and the students were trained by the famous Brian Kerkoven. Dance items were also performed during the event by SLITT students showcasing their many talents.
Sharing his thoughts on the event, The Vice-Chancellor of SLIIT, Professor Lalith Gamage said, “As we extend a warm welcome to our new students at SLIIT, I am delighted to witness their enthusiasm and energy at Synthesis 2023, organized by the SLIIT Students’ Interactive Society. This event offers an ideal opportunity for our students to bond, create a sense of community and begin their academic journey at SLIIT as a family. After a lapse of two-year, this event marked a memorable moment for all students from different faculties to come together and enjoy their time at SLIIT. I strongly encourage all students to explore their passions, participate in extracurricular activities, organize future events, excel in their academic pursuits and make the most of their time SLIIT.”
