SLIIT celebrates graduating milestone for 600 students 25th Convocation Ceremony

Celebrating the achievements of over 600 graduating students, SLIIT, Sri Lanka’s premier higher education institute, in keeping with the new normal held its July 2021 Convocation on 30 July 2021 as a virtual ceremony.

The proceedings of this milestone occasion was live-streamed with the participation of Prof. Lakshman L. Ratnayake, Chancellor, Prof. Lalith Gamage, Vice Chancellor/CEO, Heads of all Faculties, SLIIT Senior Management, all the graduands and their family members.

Among the students graduating, degrees were conferred for the Bachelor of Science Honours in Information Technology with specialization in Information Technology, Data Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems Engineering, Computer Systems & Network Engineering, Software Engineering and Interactive Media, Bachelor of Science Degrees in Information Technology specializing in Information Technology and Interactive Multimedia Technology, Bachelor of Business Administration Special Honours Degrees specializing in Human Capital Management, Accounting & Finance, Marketing Management, Bachelor of Science of Engineering Honours Degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering and Material Engineering, and also Master of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering.

Welcoming the graduates Prof. Lalith Gamage, Vice Chancellor/CEO, congratulated the graduates for their achievements and SLIIT stated, “You are now part of an important human resource necessary for the growth and development of our country. Despite the challenges we have faced as graduates you have demonstrated the spirit of resilience and the commitment in the pursuit of excellence synonymous with SLIIT. You have been equipped with skills necessary for even the competitive global stage. I urge you to be innovative, seize opportunities that come your way, tackle challenges and continue to have a passion for learning that will help propel towards future success.”

Award of Gold Medals and prizes were presented to the best performing students: Sahan Sandaruwan Wellala, Yasiru Jayasinghe, Niroshan Sanjaya Balasooriya, Herath Mudiyanselage Nimanthie Manisha Herath, Jayasena Kandana Liyanage Khema Upsala Dhananjani, Kavindi Ranasinghe, Tenusha Madhushan Guruge, Nimna Jayaweera, Kushani Urmila Hettiarachchie, Lunuwila Hewage Chanodhi Jeevani De Silva, Isuru Dananjaya Samarasekara, Udula Wijerathne, Vidanelage Kavish Kalhara De Mel, H.M. Udaraka Senevirathna, Anjay Vijayakumar, Oshada Devpriya Gamage, W.A. Thamasha Rasangi,

Speaking on the successful convocation ceremony, Yashas Mallawarachchi, Director / Academic Affairs, SLIIT said, “Despite the challenges we faced, we were able to continue the academic delivery without any delay.
