SLASSCOM, through the support of the USAID CATALYZE Sri Lanka Private Sector Development (PSD) activity, conducted a five-session digital masterclass, on utilizing digital marketing to establish an online brand for information and communication technology (ICT) professionals. From content marketing to data and analytics, the masterclass tackled some of the biggest trends and challenges in online brand management to provide participants an opportunity to collaborate and understand how to leverage the power of online platforms. The participants also learned how to reach out to potential customers and gained insights into the world of online marketing.
The event brought together presenters representing many of the industry’s brightest minds in the digital space that included senior delegates with experience managing some of the most reputable brands in retail, finance, consumer products and other popular verticals. These included Shehan Selvanayagam- Founder/ Managing Director Loops, Wasaam Ismail-CEO of Loops, Anoj Wijeratne- Head of Digital Marketing at Loops, Mohammed Gazzaly- Head of Digital Marketing – Dialog Axiata Group and Thilan Wijeyesekera, Director / Investor / Strategy and Brand Consultant at Loops.
The industry experts delivered a series of short impactful talks, sharing their latest thinking on “game-changing” creative strategies currently shaping the digital marketing space. Over fifty participants, representing thirty ICT companies, gathered insights covering a wide spectrum of topics. The masterclass provided participants with actionable approaches to utilize content to drive marketing performance across the digital channel to boost online search visibility, audience engagement, brand awareness, and sales conversions. The final session offered personalized strategy support to ten selected companies that demonstrated a clear growth plan for the next 12 months.

Used effectively it can build engagement and credibility. As such, the masterclass was designed to give participants the skills and knowledge to build and enhance their digital marketing presence. This is one of SLASSCOM’s initiatives, to build export readiness and a steppingstone in a series of market access programs to facilitate entrepreneurs and business development professionals to scale up their businesses globally.”
