SLASSCOM appoints new Board for the year 2023/2024

SLASSCOM recently announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors for the year 2023/24, comprising of accomplished industry leaders and experts, poised to drive the IT and BPM industry towards growth and address the challenges in the digital landscape.

Jehan Perinpanayagam, the newly appointed Chairman for 2023/24, brings with him an impressive 26-year career. His journey has been marked by pioneering achievements, including the establishment of Sri Lanka’s first shared services and the introduction of the country’s initial rural BPMs. Jehan’s visionary leadership has consistently driven industry “firsts,” underscoring his reputation as an innovative thinker.

Nishan Mendis, SLASSCOM’s 1st Vice Chairman, is the Executive Director and Technology Consulting Leader, as well as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for PwC Sri Lanka and Maldives. His journey in the industry spans over 23 years, during which he has played a pivotal role in spearheading numerous projects of national significance. Nishan’s wealth of experience and expertise makes him a highly valuable asset to SLASSCOM.

Shehani Seneviratne, COO at 99X Technology, takes on the role of 2nd Vice Chairman. She has been a part of SLASSCOM for more than a decade and provided leadership to many areas including the Quality and HR forums. She is a founding member of the Women technopreneur forum.  She passionately champions increased female presence in IT, where her dedication to empowering women in the tech world has made her a beacon of inspiration for all.

Feroz Cader, Group Director and Head of Market Services Technology at London Stock Exchange Group, becomes Director – Operations. He’s a key player in advancing technology at LSEG’s Financial Markets Infrastructure, driving efficiency. Formerly, Feroz led Market Services, Shared Operations at LSEG. He’s also an Executive Director at Millennium IT software, an LSEG subsidiary. His career showcases his tech-driven transformational impact on finance and technology sectors.

Sampath Jayasundara, the Director – Finance, brings a wealth of expertise and leadership as the Chief Executive Officer/Director of hSenid Business Solutions PLC & Peoples HR. His unwavering dedication and commitment to advancing the IT/BPM industry and cultivating an environment that fosters growth and innovation make him an invaluable asset to SLASSCOM.

In addition to the office bearers, an esteemed group of industry leaders and experts have been appointed as Board Directors of SLASSCOM. This includes Shehan Selvanayagam, Managing Director of Loops, a seasoned professional with a keen eye for marketing trends, having spearheaded his company to successfully create innovative solutions that seamlessly blend creativity and cutting-edge technology.

Next is Dr. Harshani Perera, Co-Founder and CEO of Inqbaytor Pty Ltd, the brainchild of the revolutionary travel agent super app ‘Ticket Gadget.’ that has rapidly grown to become the largest online travel consolidator in Sri Lanka.

The other distinguished board appointees are Arjuna Nanayakkara, Chief Executive Officer of GTN Group renowned for his strategic acumen in transforming businesses through technology. Haridhu Abeygoonaratne, Managing Director of Simcentric, is one who has showcased entrepreneurial brilliance, leading to remarkable achievements in the tech landscape.

Sanjini Munaweera, ADA’s Regional Head-South Asia, a dynamic thought leader, excels in customer experiences and ROI in B2B and B2C. With strategic insights, she fosters growth through relationships. Zahra Cader, serving as Director-Consulting and ESG Leader at PwC Sri Lanka and Maldives, brings substantial value to the SLASSCOM board by utilizing her expertise in strategic consulting to drive digital transformation and promote inclusive growth, whilst Thothathri Vaikuntam, as the Centre Head and Resident Director of HCL Technologies, Sri Lanka, is adept at strategic leadership.

Together, this talented and diverse leadership team is poised to lead SLASSCOM and the IT/BPM industry to new heights of excellence and innovation in the year 2023/24
