SLAITO and SLCB Tie-Up to Encourage Tourism Innovations at Sri Lanka MICE Tourism Conclave 2025.

Colombo, Sri Lanka – The Sri Lanka MICE Tourism Conclave (SLMTC) 2025, organized by the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), will be held on 24th May 2025 at the BMICH, Colombo. This pivotal event is designed to be a platform for the Sri Lanka’s tourism industry to come together, share innovative ideas, and contribute to the growth of the country’s tourism sector, with a particular focus on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.
 



 
SLMTC 2025 aims to empower tourism professionals and students from across Sri Lanka’s nine provinces. By encouraging fresh perspectives, the forum will inspire the next generation of tourism leaders and innovators to help elevate Sri Lanka’s tourism offerings and take the industry to the next level. The event will foster collaboration and provide valuable insights into emerging global trends, ensuring the future of Sri Lanka’s tourism remains dynamic and forward-thinking.

The one-day forum will center on the development of a Tourism Network, creating new growth opportunities and establishing a critical platform for industry stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions. It will address key areas for the advancement of the sector, including, Talent Development, Innovation, New Business Models and Sustainability.

By bringing together tourism professionals and stakeholders, the event will provide valuable networking opportunities and facilitate the exchange of ideas that will drive long-term growth in the tourism sector. Participants will leave with actionable insights and strategies that can help Sri Lanka remain a leading tourism destination in the region.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM), Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, University of Colombo, NSBM Green University, and the University College of Jaffna have joined as knowledge partners for the event, further strengthening the forum’s focus on youth participation and academic engagement.

The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) is the premier national trade association representing the inbound tourism sector of Sri Lanka. SLAITO works closely with stakeholders in the tourism industry to promote Sri Lanka as a leading global tourist destination and ensures the continued development and sustainable growth of the tourism sector.

The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) is the apex body responsible for promoting Sri Lanka as a top destination for MICE tourism. Through strategic marketing, industry collaborations, and capacity building, the Bureau plays a key role in enhancing Sri Lanka’s global standing in the MICE industry.
