SINGHE Furniture was awarded the SME Local Brand of the Year – Bronze Award at the SLIM Brand Awards 2022, which concluded recently. This marks the first time that the SLIM Brand Awards recognised and awarded a furniture company in the SME Local Brand of the Year category. The SLIM Brand Excellence Awards is a celebration of the outstanding efforts of marketers and their aims to raise local brands to international standards.

Offering products handcrafted with exceptional quality, functionality, and exclusivity, SINGHE Furniture was launched nearly 50 years ago in 1979. Spearheading the course of the company, the Managing Director of SINGHE Group of Companies, the parent institution of SINGHE Furniture, Malaka Rubasinghe commented, “We are humbled and grateful for our supportive customers and are honoured to be recognised with this award. Being the first furniture company to win such an award in this category is extremely satisfying. SINGHE Furniture has a rich history and has gone through many transformations, especially 12 years ago when I took over. I worked towards renovating the brand into a recognisable household name when it comes to luxury furniture.”

SINGHE Furniture is a one-stop shop for furnishing with an expanded retail experience and featured living, dining and bedroom vignettes. Paying attention to the most minute detail approach to the quality of materials and construction gives real staying power to the brand’s sofas, beds, dining tables, and more. Best described as a luxury for every day, furniture from SINGHE Furniture represents an investment.

With a range of expertly designed furniture pieces made of the highest quality raw materials in the market, which include fabrics sourced from South East Asia and Europe, and longevity-guaranteed quality teak wood from the State Timber Corporation; SINGHE Furniture takes pride in having the largest teak furniture collection in Sri Lanka in their showrooms in Moratuwa and Malabe.

“The past few years have been extremely difficult with the pandemic and economic downturn. Our ‘all-hands-on-deck’ leadership approach was essential when the business was disrupted. We had to remodel our showrooms and strategies while finding new ways to stay in touch with our customers. Winning this award motivates us to work harder and continuously improve as a company to turn SINGHE Furniture into a world-class brand that people would aspire to have in their houses,” Rubasinghe further explained.

Each design is unique at SINGHE Furniture, developing furniture with its own personality so that it isn’t lost among everything else in the clutter. All the material finishes and textures complement each other, allowing the consumer to match or curate to their desired aesthetic. Visit any of their state-of-the-art showrooms located in Moratuwa and Malabe; you can truly feel the comfort of choosing the furniture that you desire with the assistance and service from their furniture experts, who will guide you to envision the best fit for your home.
