The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) will be conducting its next Digital Payments Promotion Campaign for 2025 on 22nd and 23rd March 2025 in Nuwara Eliya, with the participation of the Governor of CBSL, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.

Mobile payment apps service providers including banks, finance companies and e-money service providers such as telecommunication companies, as well as Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), will participate at this event, which is organized at the Gregory Lake car park.

At this event, it is expected to facilitate the public to register for mobile payment apps, to enable making digital payments for their daily needs, which is safe, convenient, and less expensive compared to using cash for such payments. The public will also get the opportunity to use the LANKAQR payment method to receive special discounts on goods and services from vendors participating at this event.

CBSL invites the public to make use of this opportunity to enhance their awareness on the latest digital payment methods available and receive personalized guidance on making digital payments using their mobile phones.
