Sarvodaya Development Finance (SDF), the first Development Finance company in Sri Lanka, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Limited (HAHL), one of Sri Lanka’s leading suppliers of agriculture products. The partnership aims to facilitate the sale of Kubota and E-Kubota Tractors, Kubota Combine Harvesters, and Agrotech Combine Harvesters. The MOU combines SDF’s commitment to empowering rural communities with Hayleys’ dedication to the development of agriculture within the country.

This partnership between SDF and HAHL, offers a host of benefits to the agriculture sector of the country, providing communities with the resources and means of accelerating development, and ensuring the upliftment of people across Sri Lanka. Customers will also be able to enjoy significant price discounts on the initial down payment as well as attractive interest rates, facilitating an easily accessible scheme to applicants from all social strata. SDF will offer first-year insurance free of charge, building onto the multitude of benefits offered by the scheme.

Despite the challenges faced by the agriculture sector, SDF’s agri-based portfolio has continued to grow over the past many months, significantly contributing to the country’s crisis-struck economy. Upholding its goal of functioning as more than just a finance company, SDF’s alternative economy model uplifts customers through financial solutions as well as technical support and more. Utilizing SDF’s prowess in the field, the project has continued to grow, greatly benefiting rural communities across the country.

Commenting at the event Mr. Nilantha Jayanetti, CEO of SDF stated, “We hope this partnership contributes towards the continued development of local communities, aiding the revival of our agriculture sector, and prompting transformation across the industry. Sarvodaya continues to forge ahead with partnerships and projects of this nature in order to ensure the growth and evolution of Sri Lanka as a country.”

Mrs. Jayanthi Dharmasena, Managing Director of HAHL, commenting at the event stated “We are pleased to work with SDF and provide the best financial solutions to our customers as the country’s leading agricultural machinery and equipment supplier. We have carved out a name for bringing the world’s best Agri machinery and equipment to Sri Lanka. Over the years, Hayleys Agriculture has supported farmers by introducing new agricultural mechanization technologies to facilitate farming and help enhance productivity. Its collaboration with Kubota Corporation, Japan and Zoomlion Agri Machinery in China;  leading Agri machinery manufacturers in the world, has transformed the local agriculture sector over the last decade with innovative Agri machinery. “
