Rtn. Dhamitha Pathirana installed as the 48th President of Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town

The Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town recently hosted its 48th Installation Ceremony at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo. The outgoing President Rtn. Arshad Jamaldeen ceremoniously inducted Rtn. Dhamitha Pathirana as the President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town for the year 2022/2023, which commenced with the theme ‘Imagine Rotary’. Pubudu De Zoysa, Rotary District Governor for Sri Lanka and Maldives graced the event as the Chief Guest, together with Mr. Ruwan Waidyaratne, Managing Director of Hayleys Advantis, as the Guest of Honour.

Rotarian Dhamitha Pathirana is a product of St. Anthony’s College Kandy and, an enthusiastic and ambitious professional Marketer with over 15 years of experience in diverse industries such as Apparel, Fashion Retail, Tableware, Shipping, Logistics and Education. Currently he serves as the General Manager – Group Business Support and Planning at Hayleys Advantis Limited.

Mr. Dhamitha Pathirana, the newly inducted President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town commented on his new election. “I am truly humbled and honoured to have been selected to further empower this prestigious club as its latest President, and I look forward to working with the newly appointed Board, together with all the members of the club. My journey in the club began in 2016 and I have met many new friends who are unified by the ideals of service and was fortunate to take part in many service projects serving humanity. I warmly invite all members to come together in this journey, as we continue to ‘Imagine Rotary’.”

The Installation Ceremony also saw the appointment of a new Board for the year 2022/2023. District Rotaract Representative Nominee of Rotaract in Sri Lanka & Maldives Rotaractor Sathma Jayasinghe, was inducted as a new member of the Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town during the ceremony. Furthermore, the First Edition of the Club Bulletin for 2022/2023 was ceremonially presented to Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour during the event.

Multiple felicitations from sister clubs around the world such as the Rotary Club of Falshoping, the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids and the Rotary Club of Bangalore West were also showcased during the event.
