Colombo, February 20, 2025 – Rockland Distilleries (Private) Limited, in partnership with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), has launched the first-ever industry-specific sales training program for the group. This pioneering initiative aims to elevate the competencies of sales personnel by providing specialized knowledge, refining sales techniques, and reinforcing ethical standards within the alco-beverage industry.

Addressing a critical gap in industry-focused sales training, this collaboration is uniquely designed to navigate the specific dynamics, regulatory landscape, and market intricacies of the alco-beverage sector. Participants will engage in a comprehensive learning experience through expert-led lectures, hands-on training sessions, and rigorous examinations. With over 30 participants in the inaugural cohort, the program underscores Rockland’s commitment to employee development, culminating in a valuable certification endorsed by SLIM.

Speaking on the partnership, Group Chief Executive Officer Dilmini Weragama stated, “This partnership with SLIM marks a transformative step for our industry. We believe in continuous growth, and this collaboration underscores our commitment to developing talent that will drive the future of our industry.”

Vice President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, Dr. Dilhan Jayathilleke, also highlighted the significance of such partnerships in driving economic development through corporate investment in a skilled workforce. “Collaborations like this are essential for economic progress, as they empower companies to invest in a highly skilled workforce. By equipping sales professionals with industry-specific knowledge and ethical practices, we are not only enhancing their careers but also contributing to the overall growth of the sector and the economy.”

This landmark initiative reflects the shared vision of Rockland and SLIM in fostering professional excellence and setting a new benchmark for industry-specific sales training.
