Rebrands as Roar Global to signify global nature of operations

Five years ago, Roar set out on a mission to provide audiences with credible, engaging, and educative content. Instead of sensationalism and gossip, Roar aspired to be a platform to showcase the diversity and vibrance of Sri Lanka, through stories crafted upon the principles of journalistic integrity.

What was then a young startup with five employees has today grown into a much larger organisation with nearly a hundred employees, with a presence in Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Bangladesh.

“We crossed the rubicon with our coverage of the 2016 flash floods, and our innovative and credible approach to reporting helped us get noticed. From thereon, we have gone from strength to strength, and have been recognised as a truly innovative digital media company. Today, we reach millions of people across Sri Lanka and South Asia, and hundreds of brands have sought to work ith us in order to leverage our storytelling prowess” said CEO and Founder Mustafa Kassim on the sidelines of an event held to celebrate Roar Global’s fifth anniversary.

Today, Roar has evolved to be not only a media company, but a fully fledged digital media house. Its very own subsidiaries, Roar Studios and Roar Tech, work with brands and companies of all sizes to create engaging, digital-centric content and technological products to further their business objectives. To reflect this, Roar Global also unveiled its new brand identity and website.

The company also took the wraps off its brand new ‘Project Roar’ initiative, which aims to give back to society by bringing communities together and creating a direct, positive impact. As part of this initiative, Roar Global will focus on a number of causes which are reflective of the values Roar Global stands for, such as education, environmental conservation, civil society, and interfaith harmony.

The Roar Global website can be accessed at www.roar.globaland the Roar Media app is available for download on the App Store and Play Store.
