Ritzbury, the flagship chocolate brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) and market leader in the chocolate industry, will host the ‘Ritzbury Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival 2019’ commencing 08 September 2019. Ritzbury is committed to developing the skills of the nation’s budding talent pool with regards to sports, and the ‘Ritzbury Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival’ is one step in this journey of nurturing the next generation of sportsmen in Sri Lanka.

The carnival will take place for the 11th consecutive year with the objective of developing the game of rugby and creating opportunities for budding ruggerites in the Under 10 and Under 12 categories to perform in a fun and competitive environment. The carnival, which will be held at the Royal College Sports Complex, comprises 4 rounds of matches to be held on Sundays (8th and 22nd of September and 6th and 20th of October) over 7 weeks. Furthermore, the carnival declares no champion, but encourages all players to participate in a sport that epitomises hard work, dedication and true sportsmanship.

Shahid Sangani, Secretary of the Organizing Committee, commented, “Rugby is a popular sport in Sri Lanka that is actively practiced on many levels, with many keen supporters. We are proud to join hands with Ritzbury for this carnival, and believe that the brand’s leadership position in the market will ensure a successful event this year as well, with the participation of 30+ schools, 100+ teams and 700+ junior rugby players. This has become an eminent event in rugby circles, gaining the interest of players, parents and coaches from schools around Sri Lanka.”

Nilupul De Silva, General Manager of Marketing for CBL Foods International, stated, “We are proud to host the ‘Ritzbury Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival 2019’ together with the old boys committee from the participating schools. As a brand, we are committed to developing sports among youngsters, and cement our position in this regard. In addition to rugby, we also partner other sporting events, including the Ritzbury Sir John Tarbet Athletics Championship, Vidudaya Ritzbury Swimming Championship and the Ritzbury Junior National Squash Championship.
