Raja Jewellers Private Limited commenced in 1928 as ‘E. A. Fernando Jewellers’ in Chatham Street when the late Mr. E. A. Fernando began working on gemstones that were collected from Ratnapura, forming them into masterpieces of luxury Jewellery. In 1962 Raja Fernando, the son of E. A. Fernando who displayed not only the craftsmanship but also the entrepreneurship finesse, elevated the business rebranding it as ‘Raja Jewellers’, today’s most embraced brand name amongst the Sri Lankan Jewellery industry. Taking over from Raja Fernando in 1985 for the third generation were his sons Ashoka Eliyapura and Athula Eliyapura who then registered the business as a Limited Liability Company under the name of ‘Raja Jewellers (Pvt) Ltd’.
Pintanna Oud Oil (Private) Limited, at the same time, is well known for its exquisite product range of oud oil, incense sticks and bakhoor canisters.
Mr. Dharmasena has been engaged in oud plantation since 2009, across his Pintanna Estate and researched the art of distilling oud oil. In 2020, he received a license from the Sri Lankan Government to become the first and only legal exporter of oud. During the same year, Mr. Dharmasena was able to establish his first company Pintanna Plantations (Private) Limited and constructed Sri Lanka’s first-ever Oud Oil Distilling Factory.
In 2021, the establishment of Pintanna Oud Oil (Private) Limited took place with the aspiration of exporting oud products to the world.
