Another unique CSR activity carried out by Ariya Milk is the “Kiri Mawa Surakimu” programme,
In this programme a village is chosen and the head of the community picks low-income families to receive cows, through which they can enrich their lives with fresh-milk for consumption and sale. These cows are purchased from slaughter houses on the day of the programme and given to these families to commence home-based dairy industries. This programme has ensured that the lives of many cows are saved and handed over across the island including Matara, Aluthgama, Anuradhapura, Kalutara and the Kataragama Devalaya. This programme also increases the country’s potential towards being self-sufficient in dairy. Each month every cow’s health is checked as well as it’s respective owner is given tips and advised on how to ensure good health and happiness as well as maximizing yield for the family’s dairy produce.
Meanwhile, Ariya Milk also provided over two hundred thousand tea cups to pilgrims at religious events held across the island including the “Pichchamal Puja” at the Anuradhapura “Sri Maha Bhodhiya”, Kandy Sri Dalada Perahara, Jaffna Nallur Kovil Festival, Rathnapura Sabaragamuwa Maha Saman Dewalaya Perahera and the Bellanwila Perahara.
