
Colombo, Sri Lanka – As the global financial landscape increasingly shifts towards sustainability, CFA Society Sri Lanka (CFASSL) and Deloitte have partnered to present a pioneering program on Green Bonds. This initiative, set to take place on April 2, 2025, at the Galle Face Hotel, aims to provide finance professionals, corporate leaders, and regulatory bodies with critical insights into Green Bond issuance, regulatory compliance, and assurance mechanisms.
Green Bonds have emerged as a key financial instrument in sustainable investing, channeling capital into environmentally beneficial projects. With Sri Lanka looking to integrate more sustainable financial practices into its capital markets, this program is expected to offer a much-needed roadmap for industry stakeholders.
Bridging Knowledge Gaps in Sustainable Finance
A spokesperson from CFA Society Sri Lanka emphasized the importance of this program, stating, “Green Bonds are redefining financial markets by directing investments towards projects with tangible environmental impact. As sustainability becomes a core focus in finance, it is essential that professionals in Sri Lanka gain a thorough understanding of this evolving space.”

Industry Experts to Share Key Insights
The program will include key presentations from financial institutions with firsthand experience in Green Bond issuance. Alliance Finance Company PLC will provide insights into its journey in issuing Green Bonds, covering its sustainability initiatives and the types of projects it funds. NDB Investment Bank LTD will discuss regulatory frameworks, pricing mechanisms, and the market outlook for Green Bonds in Sri Lanka. Deloitte will offer a technical presentation on external reviews, assurance frameworks, and the role of third-party verification in ensuring transparency and credibility in Green Bond investments.
