Press Conference was held to Mark the Celebration of National Youth Day 2024

Wednesday 30 October 2024: A Press Conference was held to mark the Celebration of National Youth Day 2024 organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Department of Youth Development at the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Dhaka.
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest in the press conference.

 



 

Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Rezaul Makshud Zahedi, Director General of Youth Development Department (Grade-1). Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman. Journalists from print and electronic media along with ministry officials were present at the press conference.

At this time, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Youth and Sports, said that as a part time students will perform the duty of traffic police for four hours. Students will be given job opportunities in every sector. They are being prepared for building the future Bangladesh. A traffic awareness course was conducted with 1000 youth. 700 people are joining from there.

Asif Mahmud, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said that initially 300-400 people will be taken to control the traffic. 700 people will be appointed gradually. They will work at important points in the capital. There is more traffic in the morning and afternoon, so they will work for 4 hours during this time. Students will be considered for permanency upon completion of their studies if they are interested.

Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said that the government will need more money if it is taken full time. Students are also provided with income if they take it as part time. The advisor also said that in many developed countries of the world, students are given opportunities for various government jobs.

At that time, the adviser of the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Youth and Sports said that there are 2.6 lakh graduates unemployed in the whole country. And the total number of unemployed is 1 crore 18 lakh. In the next 2 years, the government will take the initiative to provide employment to 5 lakh youth and 9 lakh youth will be given training. He said that the Ministry of Youth and Employment will clean 64 canals across the country. As part of this, Dhaka’s Rampura-Jirani canal will be cleaned.
