Faridul Islam Rubel has been honored with the Best Playwright Award at the Babisas Award 2023-2024. The award ceremony took place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. Rubel received the award for his excellence in playwriting.
The award was presented by the chief guest, legendary actress Anwara Begum, and the special guest, Tashik Ahmed, the Broadcast and Program Advisor of ATN Bangla. The event was chaired by Abul Hossain Majumder.
In his acceptance speech, Faridul Islam Rubel expressed that receiving an award is a recognition of one’s work, which encourages further contributions and strengthens one’s commitment to their craft. He promised to continue striving to meet the expectations of the audience.
This year, the Babisas Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to film personalities Anwara Begum, Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Ujjal, and Ferdous Ara for their contributions to music. Special honors were awarded to film personalities Rozina, Rubel, and Tashik Ahmed. Several others were also recognized for their achievements, including Nirab Hossain, Joy Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed, Shiba Sanu, Rashed Mamun Apu, Khaled Hossain Chowdhury, Mohammad Fahad, Golam Kibria Tanvir, Romana Islam Mukti, Shabnom Bubly, Shabnom Parveen, Arpana Rani Rajbongshi, and Bobby Hock.
Special recognition was also given to musicians Monir Khan, Robi Chowdhury, Ethun Babu, Baby Naznin, Dolly Shayanthoni, and Tasiba Begum, among others.
