PHA Global Summit 2024 : Pioneering Advancements in Global Healthcare

Planetary Health Academia proudly announces the groundbreaking ‘PHA Global-Summit 2024’ under the theme ‘Advancing Healthcare Together.’ This historic event is set to take place for the first time in Bangladesh and South Asia, from February 18 to 27, at the United Convention Center, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The summit serves as a convergence point, transcending geographical boundaries to unite medical professionals, researchers, and students in addressing the dynamic challenges of global healthcare. This all-inclusive international medical conference will witness the participation of more than thousands of expert physicians, researchers, and academics from around the world. Distinguished speakers include 50 internationally-renowned medical scientists and over 100 esteemed medical experts from the host country, presenting in more than 30 courses and scientific sessions during the 9-day summit.



Sunday 18 February 2024  Dr.  Tasbirul Islam, chairparson of Planetary Health Association (PHA) at a press confernace at Holiday Inn in Tejgaon, Dhaka made the announcement of the summit with detailed schedule. Dr Rehana Yasmin Zaman- consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, UK,  Lead for O&G PHA, Dr Ashraf Malek ( Transplant Hepatologist), NJ, Dr Syed Asif Arafat Sadeque Consultant Cardiac and Aortic Surgeon, UK, PHA trustee Dr. Zaker Ullah, Consultant, Genarel and Oncoplastic Bresat Surgeon, Omar Sharif were also present at the press confernace.
The main conference, scheduled for February 24 and 25, will be complemented by 15 pre-conference courses (Feb 18, 19, 20, 22, 23) and 3 post-conference courses (Feb 26 and 27). Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on training on various complex subjects facilitated by both local and foreign experts.
The inaugural program, commencing at 5 pm on February 23 (Friday), will feature the Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Samanta Lal Sen, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished leaders from prestigious institutions including the Royal College of Physicians London, Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, International Diabetes Federation, World Heart Federation, and American College of Cardiology will also grace the summit.
In a press conference, it was revealed that more than 18 pre and post-conference courses, along with workshop, hands-on training sessions, and 5 keynote presentation will be conducted throughout the summit. A number of Internationally recognized certification courses, such as London Core Review, Pulmonary Mechanical Ventilation, Bronchoscopy, Radiology, Nephrology HD, Gastroenterology Foregut and Pelvic Motility, Colorectal: Hands-on, Liver Transplantation and more, will offer hands-on learning opportunities.
The summit’s scientific seminars will spotlight medical advances and technological innovations in healthcare globally, featuring 5 hands-on courses, 16 three-hour sessions by renowned experts, and career guidance sessions for young medical professionals. IFMSA Bangladesh will coordinate abstract and case presentation competitions for students and interns.
The event provides a platform for communication with global healthcare leaders through medical exhibitions, dedicated sessions, and courses on various topics, including biostatistics, research, study design, effective communication skills, work-life balance, physician burnout, and safety. The summit encourages collaboration among professionals, researchers, and experts, aiming for positive changes in the healthcare sector.
The ‘PHA Global-Summit 2024’ stands as a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s healthcare landscape, offering a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in research activities. The summit, with the presence of Presidents from prestigious international organizations, is set to create a global platform with over 100 foreign delegates, fostering discussions on both global and regional healthcare issues.
Supported by the Director General of Health Services and Health Education, the event enjoys collaboration with renowned organizations and professional bodies, including BSMMU, BIRDEM, BCPS, All most all of the Medical Societies, and many more.
