Pelwatte Dairy, which manufactures a range of dairy products locally and helps save valuable foreign exchange for Sri Lanka, was recognized for its contribution as a business leader in Sri Lanka’s dairy sector.

Pelwatte Dairy was awarded the International Business Icon Award 2023 (IBIA) by Consortium Members of Medicina Alternativa OIUCM (Alma Ata-1909), during a colorful ceremony held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. The event was attended by local and international health professionals, medical doctors, professors, and business leaders.

Medicina Alternativa is an international organization formed in 1962 congruent to the policy objectives of the World Health Organization and is headquartered in Sri Lanka. Pelwatte Dairy was crowned with the IBIA with the concurrence of the Medicina Europe Association and Ecumenical Medical Humanitarian Knights of St John, the global institution with a one thousand- year history and an institution that promotes the novices and experts in the global business arena. Elaborating on the broader parameters of the Award, Medicina Alternativa said that the recipients of the awards are “dynamic leaders behind today’s outstanding businesses and are exemplary individuals who epitomize strength, ingenuity, knowledge, foresight and who drive the growth of their businesses with vision and inspiration.”

The IBIA award – an independent endorsement of Pelwatte’s expertise and professionalism – is a testament to Pelwatte Dairy’s commitment to maintain the high quality and excellence in Sri Lanka’s dairy industry. This award is also a powerful reminder of Pelwatte’s innovative capacities across its product verticals. The Pelwatte’s workforce is the Pelwatte Family and its tireless commitment to driving growth across various product categories has resulted in the company clinching an international award of this nature. The family’s strength, ingenuity, knowledge, and foresight have powered the Pelwatte brand to new heights within Sri Lanka’s dairy sector and shall continue to do so for a long time to come. The award event itself was a memorable experience that made the PDIL family feel proud and accomplished. The award event opened the door for PDIL for a bigger local consumer base while simultaneously creating awareness among the international dairy industry. Most importantly, Pelwatte wishes to thank Sri Lankan consumers of all types including industrial, business and households, for continuously patronizing the Pelwatte brand and keeping their faith on it, without which this award would not become a reality.
