Palliative Care Award 2023-2024 Recognizes Excellence in Palliative Care

Palliative Care Award 2023-2024 Ceremony was held on 24th June 2024 at Hospice Bangladesh Hospital plot-275/K, Dhanmondi, Dhaka Celebrating exemplary contributions to palliative care in the Country.

This prestigious event, organised by Hospice Palliative Care Foundation (HPC Foundation), honoured individuals and organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients facing serious illnesses.

 



 

Palliative care, which focuses on relieving suffering and improving the quality of life for patients and their families, plays a crucial role in the healthcare system.

The award ceremony highlighted outstanding efforts in this field, acknowledging innovation, compassion, and dedication. Among the recipients were healthcare professionals who have demonstrated exceptional clinical skills and empathy in providing palliative care services.

The Ceremony highlighted the remarkable efforts of the following winners:

(1) DR Md Abdul Mabud Palliative Care Doctor Award-Dr. Anika Tabassum Ummika, (2) Late Kathleen Antoinette Hossain Palliative Care Doctor Award-Dr. Ranada Prasad Roy, (3) Late Syed Abul Khair Mohammed Delwar Hussain Palliative Care Doctor Award-Dr. Ummey Halima, (4) Late Choudhury A.K.M. Shamsuddoha Palliative Care Institutional Nurse Award-Jitu Sarkar, (5) Late Alfaaz Hossain Palliative Care Institutional Nurse Award-Beauty Halder, (6) Late Jubidur Kabir Palliative Care Institutional Nurse Award-Razia Sultana, (7) Late Mrs. Mamtaz Begum Palliative Care Institutional Nurse Award-Mos. Jakia Sultana

(8) Late A. N. Amanullah Palliative Care Institutional Nurse Award-Shamim Ahmed, (9) Late Farida Khanam Palliative Home Care Nurse Award-Manda Somapika, (10) Late Farida Khanam Palliative Home Care Nurse Award-Popy Akhter, (11) Late Farida Khanam Palliative Home Care Nurse Award-Shilpy Akter Sohagi, (12) Late Mohammed Abu Naser Palliative Home Care Nurse Award-Sarmin Khatun, (13) Late Choudhury A.K.M. At the award ceremony Welcome Address by Dr. Shahinur Kabir (Secretary of Aastha Hospice), Introduce with  Hospice Palliative Care Foundation (HPC Foundation) by Safia Choudhury (Secretary of HPC Foundation), Speech of Vice President HPC Foundation Shaila Ahmed, Speech of Chairman, Hospice Bangladesh Dr. Sazia Afrin.

Hospice Bangladesh, in association with Hospice Palliative Care Foundation (HPC), Palliative Care Academy and Platform of Medical and Dental Society, are organized the Palliative Care Olympiad 2024.

Participation in the competition was College, Medical College, and University students aged between 16 and 25 years.
