NDB Wealth Management and nVentures facilitates international resource personnel to enhance the Sri Lankan start-up ecosystem

Colombo, Sri Lanka, August 2024 – NDB Wealth Management Ltd – the largest private sector Asset Management company in Sri Lanka with more than Rs. 340 Billion assets under management, following their strategic collaboration with nVentures PTE Ltd in April 2024, successfully hosted an exclusive educational workshop, “Startup Investing 101.” This event aimed to demystify the fundamentals of startup investing for high-net-worth (HNW) clients, fostering a deeper understanding of the venture capital landscape.

 




 

The event began with opening remarks from Co-founder and Managing Partner, nVentures – Chalinda Abeykoon, and CEO, NDB Wealth Management Ltd – Ruwan Perera sharing their insights. This set the tone for an engaging and informative evening, emphasising the critical role of education in nurturing the next generation of angel investors.

The highlight of the evening was a comprehensive presentation by Co-founder and General Partner, Accelerating Asia Ventures – Craig Dixon. Dixon’s presentation covered essential topics such as determining startup valuations, managing investment portfolios, negotiating terms, and establishing a reputation as a leading angel investor. The workshop’s educational depth provided attendees with practical knowledge and actionable strategies.

This was followed by a dynamic Q&A session with an esteemed panel of international experts alongside Craig Dixon, and included Co-founder and CEO, e27 – Mohan Belani, and Vice President, Tenity for APAC, and Managing Partner for Asia – Jonas Thürig.

These experts shared their insights and experiences, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders and deepen their understanding of startup investing.

This workshop served as a follow-up to NDB Wealth’s debut event in collaboration with nVentures, which aimed to connect startup founders with NDB Wealth’s HNW clientele.
