For the arrival of spring and Valentine’s Day, the love-themed play “Alo Andhare” (Light and Shadow) has been created under the direction of Naznin Hasan Khan and written by Arpona Rani Rajbongshi. The play stars Shofol Khan, Maftoha Jannat Zim, Farid Hossain, Anwar Shahi, and others.
Regarding the play, Naznin Hasan Khan said, “Valentine’s Day is not just about love stories or exchanging flowers. It also includes the stories of failure, sacrifice, rebellion, deprivation, regret, and separation. ‘Alo Andhare’ is such a story, and I believe it will touch the hearts of lovers.”
Arpona Rani Rajbongshi said, “In ‘Alo Andhare,’ there is a multifaceted burning of love in life, where the protagonist is not only a husband but also a lover. In today’s society, where divorces are happening frequently over trivial issues, even after losing his beloved wife, the character of Dihan is unable to rebuild his life. This is what we call the true value of love.”
The story revolves around Dihan and Mili, a couple living a blissful life full of love, with no apparent shortages. However, fate plays a cruel trick, and the disease of cancer casts a shadow on their once-happy world.
Dihan becomes desperate to save Mili. Despite numerous efforts, he cannot do anything. At this stage of cancer, there’s nothing more that can be done, and he can’t bear to watch the love of his life suffer and die slowly.
In a state of anxiety, Dihan meets with an accident while driving. Mili’s final days become filled with misery. Dihan hides his own pain, trying to keep Mili happy with a false smile. As time passes and nothing stays still in this emotional world, Mili is touched by Dihan’s crazy love for her.
This life-based love story will be featured in “Alo Andhare” this Valentine’s Day.
