Recently, three solo plays were created in the picturesque location of Pubail, Gazipur, written by Rajib Moni Das and directed by Naznin Hasan Khan. The plays are titled Jamai 420, Matha Gorom Poribar, and Kisti Nile Jamin Nai.

The cast includes some of the most popular comedy actors of the time, such as Tariq Swapan, Ankhi Chowdhury, Amin Azad, Simana Shila, Shahela Akter, Farid Hossain, AB Rashid, and Ghalib, among others.

Regarding the dramas, playwright Rajib Moni Das mentioned, “Considering the demands of the time and the audience, I wrote stories in a satirical style this time. Each story is distinct and carries its unique characteristics, where comedy is not the only focus but also includes social narratives.”

Director Naznin Hasan Khan said, “Every director wants the audience to enjoy, and although I prefer more social and serious stories, this time the touch of comedy is more prominent. In a changing social system, the preferences of the audience also matter. Social responsibility remains my priority in direction, and that will continue in the future as well.”

Actor Tariq Swapan expressed his gratitude towards the director and playwright, saying, “I’ve received much love from the audience as a co-actor until now. This is my first time playing the lead role, and I can’t express how amazing it feels. I’m grateful to everyone who has shown me love, and I seek their blessings to continue doing better work in the future.”

In Jamai 420, the story revolves around a son-in-law who, despite earning a large sum abroad, cannot shake off his miserly habits. Even after coming back to his in-laws’ house with a lot of money, he arrives empty-handed. He faces embarrassment when his only sister in law criticizes him for not bringing anything for her. Even after this, his conscience doesn’t awaken. Through various situations, he finally overcomes his niggardly habits.

In Matha Gorom Poribar, the story is about a mild-mannered man who suddenly starts arguing with his wife for no reason. The arguments escalate to physical fights, and the matter is brought to his uncle for judgment. His aunt further complicates things, but despite everything, love still pulls them together. They don’t understand why they fight, and the uncle reveals that it might be a family trait as his brother had the same issue. Both the nephew and niece realize their mistake and feel remorse.

In Kisti Nile Jamim Nai, the plot centers on a village where people take loans for necessities, but fail to repay them. The loan collector, Kashem, is a responsible and honest man who tries to ensure the money is used properly. However, the villagers neglect their responsibilities, and Kashem is eventually humiliated. One woman, under pressure, collapses from a stroke, leading to rumors that she has died. The villagers become enraged and beat Kashem. Later, when the woman wakes up, she clarifies that it was just a high blood pressure issue and that Kashem’s care saved her life. Realizing their mistake, the villagers apologize to him.
