As a pioneer in private sector healthcare facilitators in Sri Lanka, the Nawaloka Hospital’s Mother and Baby Care Unit has the capacity to accommodate 15 mothers at a time and also has four private labor rooms the spouse can be present during delivery in a family atmosphere.

The Unit also has a world-class neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and premature baby unit (PBU) equipped with state of the art incubators and monitoring equipment to take care of premature babies.

The Unit uses the latest technology to monitor the baby’s health from conception taking care of both the baby and the expectant mother until the delivery with utmost care.

Nawaloka Hospital also provides painless delivery with epidural labor analgesia a method which is widely popular in most western countries. A qualified consultant anesthetist conducts the entire procedure and by administering pain-reducing medications.

In order to provide the best services for mothers and babies, the Unit offers parent-crafting programs for expectant parents, breastfeeding counseling, physiotherapy, and dietary advice following delivery.

The cost for a normal delivery package, excluding the consultant’s fee, is currently priced at 75,000 LKR package including 1 ½ day hospital stay with delivery charges, while a cesarean surgical package, excluding the consultant’s fee which is priced at 130,000 LKR package including 2 day hospital stay with delivery charges.

The team of leading consultants, including obstetricians, gynecologists, and neonatologists are supported by skilled and well-experienced staff specially trained in mother and baby care, providing 24/7 service.
