Nations Trust Bank celebrated the Children’s & Elders’ Day with the participation of two generations at their branch network island wide. The Bank invited groups of senior citizens and their grandchildren to visit Nations Trust Bank branches to mark this special day. The senior citizens who participated at these events received a life cover worth LKR 200,000/- with the first year absolutely free and their grandchildren received special gift vouchers in honour of the day.
The Bank has also launched a special gifts promotion for new deposits to Prabuddha Senior Citizen Savings Accounts. During the promotion period, depositors will receive special gifts including ladies’ umbrellas, wall clocks, golf umbrellas and travel bags depending on their deposit values.
Another special communication was also conducted through newspapers and social media, where Nations Trust Bank encouraged grandparents and grandchildren to spend more time together on this special day. The campaign encouraged grandparents to teach their grandchildren how to make a kite by following the simple instructions on the Bank’s newspaper advertisement and using the same paper. Kite making is an age old activity that elders and children used to engage in but which has now reduced in popularity with the advent of electronic games and the internet; this campaign was carried out to encourage children and elders to spend more time together and engage with each other. They were also invited to share photographs of their creations with the Bank via WhatsApp or Viber and the first 50 elders and 50 kids to send theirs in will receive a special reward.
Courtesy of Nations Prabuddha Senior Citizen Accounts, a special message services was also provided by Nations Trust Bank that children could use to send loving wishes to their parents on this special day. The service allowed people to call and record a voice message wishing their parents, which was then automatically delivered via a phone call to their parent’s phone on the 01st of October, which was Elders’ Day.
