The National Surfing Championship organised by the Surfing Federation of Sri Lanka (SFSL), concluded successfully in Arugambay and saw the presence of a large gathering. Nearly 30 foreign competitors took part in the open event along with top sixteen surfers from the National Championship. A total of 50 locals competed in the National Championship.
As the National Mobile Service Provider, Mobitel sponsored the National Surf Championship Series 2020 as the Official Telecommunication Partner. The Surfing Championship was a timely initiative by the Ministry of Youth & Sports and Ministry of Tourism. The synergy between the two ministries have not only help build the surfing industry but have also facilitated to revive the tourism sector as well.
