The President’s Media Unit has issued a statement saying that laws related to the prevention of terrorism will be gazetted under emergency law regulations from midnight, tonight (April 22). The move has been made to give authority to the Police and the three Armed Forces in order to ensure the safety of the general public.23 April

Tomorrow (April 23) has been declared as a National Day of Mourning by President Maithripala Sirisena. Curfew has also been re-imposed, starting from 8 tonight (22), until 4 am tomorrow (23).
